A Moment We Will Treasure Forever!!!

In April 2008, we exhibited, at the Labrador Retriever Club of the Potomac Specialty in Frederick, Maryland. The most prestigious Labrador Specialty in the world. Our BISS GCH Shadowbrook's McSteamy competed against 365 dogs and took top honors going Winner's Dog and Best Bred By Exhibitor Dog for a 5 point major toward his AKC Championship! Thank you so much to breeder judge Ms. Siv Sando of Eyecatching Labradors in Norway.

A tremendous thank you to dear friends Jill DiGesare (Wiscoy) and Marion Daniel (Mar-Moye) for their help and support with McSteamy at the 2008 Potomac Specialty. We couldn't have done it without you!

BISS CH Beechcroft's Formal Attire

While all of our dogs are special in their own way, there comes that time when the dog of a lifetime enters your lives. For us, that dog was BISS CH Beechcroft's Formal Attire also known as Tuxedo. Tux was the most regal ambassador of our breed. He was a gentle, kind, and very intuitive. Tuxedo remains in our hearts and is thought of daily as we interact with relatives here at Spring Dell Farm.

We would like to thank, our friend, Becky Cook of Ljutic Lane Labradors for capturing our boy in this stunning photo. We would also like to thank, from the bottoms of our hearts, Michael & Mary Wiest of Beechcroft Labradors for entrusting us with Tuxedo. He captured our hearts from the moment we me him and played a tremendous role in shaping our family and Shadowbrook Labradors.

Spring Dell Farm is nestled along the Delaware River in the Garden State of New Jersey. We are located in Hunterdon County just one hour twenty minutes south of New York City and one hour twenty minutes north of Philadelphia.

At Shadowbrook Labradors, we strive to produce quality family companions which are healthy, sound, and stunning in looks. We currently focus on black Labrador Retrievers and occasionally breed for yellow and chocolate. Our breeding program centers around a strong conformation style and the breed characteristics that distinguish the Labrador from any other breed - head, coat and tail. A typical Labrador should have good bone, a distinctive dense and weather-resistant coat, an "otter" tail, and a head that exhibits friendly eyes, character, intelligence, and a good temperament.

We have been involved in showing, training, and breeding dogs for over 48 years with thirty of those years dedicated to the Labrador Retriever. Michael is a past apprentice instructor for Guide Dogs for the Blind, Inc. located in San Rafael, California and Kimberlee is the past practice manager/administrator for AnimERge an animal emergency and specialized hospital located in Raritan, New Jersey. She is also registered veterinary health technician and has been a surgical nurse for over 27 years specializing in animal ophthalmology, degenerative joint disease, and emergency care.

In addition, Michael has been an American Kennel Club judge for Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers and All Breed Jr. Showmanship for over 20 years now and has had the opportunity to judge across the United States and abroad in Brazil, Germany, New Zealand, and Canada. Kimberlee is also a licensed AKC judge for Labrador Retrievers and has begun judging at specialties and supported entry shows across the United States and abroad.

All of our breeding stock is certified for hip and elbow joint soundness and for eye disease through OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals). Our puppies are placed with new families on AKC Limited Registrations to protect their quality of life after they leave our home and to protect the integrity of the style of dog we breed and exhibit. We always recommend for health and safety you spay or neuter your pet at 2 years of age.

It is with much pride that we microchip all of our puppies, between 5 and 6 weeks of age, with the AKC Reunite Microchip . This means that every puppy that leaves Spring Dell Farm is eligible to be registered with the AKC Reunite program; a global recovery network, which utilizes a sophisticated computerized database, dedicated to reuniting pets with their families if they are ever lost. The AKC Reunite microchip is permanent and a safe identification for life!

We are proud to state that we exclusively feed Purina Pro Plan dog food. Every new puppy goes to their new home with a Puppy Starter Kit which provides a wealth of information: feeding instructions and a puppy care guide. At Shadowbrook Labradors, we have found that not only our puppies, but all of our specialty winning show dogs thrive on the nutrition in Purina dog food products.

With over 22 acres, many Shadowbrook family puppies and adults return for vacation while their owners are away on holiday or business. Not only does it give us great pleasure to see our little ones grow into fine adult dogs, but it allows each puppy owner to rest at ease and gain the peace of mind that their loved one is safe until they return home from their trip.

Most every new Shadowbrook family comes to visit us prior to obtaining their new puppy. We love to have visitors come and meet our dogs and to learn more about our philosophy and the process of obtaining a puppy. During your visit, it is a good time to ask all those questions that you have been accumulating. Please give us a call so we can schedule a visit for you!

We are known shippers with United Airlines Cargo to accommodate fellow breeders who require immediate shipment of goods from one of our boys! In addition, should you live outside of New Jersey and wish to acquire a puppy from us, we are more than confident to ship your new family member with United Airlines.

Lastly, we are members of good standing in the Mid-Jersey Labrador Retriever Club . This fine organization is dedicated to the health, well-being, and safety of the Labrador Retriever.

We do not place show prospect/breeding puppies with breeders so please do not contact us if you are seeking a puppy on full AKC registration.
